This image was made on the rocks at Baker Beach in San Francisco. Using a strobe held by my assistant, I was able to bring up the textures of the rock, and create a more dramatic mood that fit the way that they were standing.

I try to keep my portrait sessions fun, and often the couples have a pretty good idea about what they want to do :)

I really enjoy this shot of Karla and Mike. Sometimes a different angle really makes all the difference, and I work with my couples to have fun and experiment a bit.

We walked around the Cannery near Ghiradelli Square. As we were just getting started, I got them to play around a little in the window.

As it began to get dark, I made a few long exposure images that picked up the beautiful colors and stillness of the lake. Mono Lake is often windy in the evening, and it was great to have a calm, quiet twilight. Near Navy Beach at the Mono Lake South Tufa Reserve.

I grabbed this image as Zoe was sitting in the car and I was getting my gear together. I’ve added a little bit of cross processing to enhance the blues and yellows of the original capture.

Both children were so interested in the sea. I like this image because they appear to be looking off into the future, ready for whatever comes their way.
